Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-16. Plain language, because terms you can't read protect nobody.

1. What SkillMOO is

SkillMOO is an independent rating and optimization service for AI agent skills — the SKILL.md files that add capabilities to coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. We grade a skill's safety, token cost, and conflicts, and we can rewrite it to be leaner and sharper.

2. Free and paid

All detection is free, permanently. Grading a skill, scanning a bundle, the CLI, the badge, and every rating on this site cost nothing and require no account.

One-click optimize is the paid feature (SkillMOO Pro). Signed-in free accounts get 3 optimizes per calendar month. Pro removes the limit.

3. Your account

You sign in with GitHub. You are responsible for your GitHub account's security; anyone who controls it controls your SkillMOO account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account was misused. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

4. Subscription, renewal, and cancellation

SkillMOO Pro is ¥19.9 per month and renews automatically every month until you cancel. There is no free trial. You are charged when you subscribe and on each monthly renewal date.

You can cancel at any time, from the account menu → “Manage / cancel”, which opens your billing portal. Cancelling stops all future charges. Your Pro access continues until the end of the period you already paid for — we don't claw back time you bought.

If a renewal payment fails, your access continues to the end of the current period while the payment is retried. If it can't be collected, the subscription lapses back to free.

We may change the price. If we do, we will tell you by email before it applies to you, and it will only ever take effect on a future renewal — never retroactively, and never on a period you have already paid for.

5. Payments and who you are buying from

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle handles the transaction, sales tax and VAT, invoicing, and refunds, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase itself. We never see or store your card details.

6. What our ratings are — and what they are not

This matters more than anything else on this page, so we'll be blunt.

A SkillMOO grade is the output of static analysis: we read the skill text and any bundled scripts and compute a score. It is a useful signal, not a security guarantee. Static analysis sees what a skill can do; it cannot prove what its author intends, and it cannot execute the skill to see what happens at runtime.

An A grade means we found no evidence of a problem. It does not mean a skill is safe, and it is not a substitute for your own review — especially for a skill that touches credentials, the network, or your filesystem. A grade is one input to your judgement, never a replacement for it.

Where we report measured efficacy, it is labeled with the exact model and task suite it was measured on, and it does not predict your results on a different model or task.

7. Ratings are not for sale

No one can pay to change a rating, remove a rating, or be rated more favourably — not skill authors, not advertisers, not Pro subscribers. If anyone offers you the opposite while claiming to represent SkillMOO, they are lying; please report it to [email protected].

If you think a grade is wrong, every grade ships as a machine-readable vector you can recompute yourself. Send it to us and we will re-measure. A grade changes when our measurement changes — never because someone asked loudly or paid.

8. Your content stays yours

The skills you check remain entirely yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to them beyond what is technically required to perform the operation you asked for, at the moment you ask for it. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent where.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use SkillMOO to break the law, to attack us or our providers, to resell or systematically scrape our ratings as a competing dataset, or to try to manipulate a rating. Don't attempt to circumvent the free quota with automated account creation. We may suspend an account that does these things; if we do, we will refund any unused paid time.

10. No warranty

SkillMOO is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law where you live allows. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a grade is free of error, or that an optimized skill will behave identically to the original in every context — which is precisely why every rewrite is re-analyzed and rejected unless it verifiably improves, and why we always hand you the result to review before you use it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to SkillMOO is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including, for consumers in the EU, UK, and elsewhere, your statutory rights, which these terms never reduce.

12. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date and, for subscribers, by email. You can stop using SkillMOO at any time; cancelling your subscription is described in section 4.

13. Who you're dealing with, and which law applies

SkillMOO is built and operated by Shawn C., an independent developer based in China. It is not a company — it is one person. That is worth knowing before you rely on us, and it is also exactly why no one can buy a rating.

Your purchase is a contract with Paddle.com, not with us. Paddle is the Merchant of Record and the seller of record for every order (section 5). Paddle's company details, address, and buyer terms are shown at checkout and on your receipt.

These service terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. If you are a consumer, that changes nothing about your own rights. You keep every mandatory protection of the country where you live — including, in the EU and UK, your statutory right of withdrawal and your right to bring a claim in your local courts — and nothing in these terms reduces them. We spell this out because a choice-of-law line cannot take those rights away from a consumer anywhere, and implying otherwise would be exactly the kind of small print we don't write.

14. Contact

[email protected] — see the contact page for what to include and how fast we reply.

Independent static analysis by SkillMOO — the Consumer Reports for agent skills. Safety, token, and conflict grades are computed, not opinions. Efficacy is only ever claimed when measured. We rate & link to the source; we do not rehost skill content.
